Interview with Chief Olusola Dada, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Anchoria Investment Limited.
How can an average investor make bumper harvest in Nigerian capital market?
An average investor needs proper advice, a full investment advice. If you say you want to do it on your own because it is the problem in Nigeria. Many of our investors are roadside investors, once they see the daily new supers, they just rush into it.
Why is it that Nigeria capital market does not respond to the happening arround the world like the last crash in America as other major world capital markets responded?
The market is still in infant stage. We have not reached a stage in Nigeria where individuals are not buying shares directly from the market. In other parts of the world, you don't just have small ammount of money and say you are going to stockbrokers to buy, you have to participate in a mutual funds or unit trust. In which case you are not the one dictating which share to buy, it is the management of the funds that determine say what quantity of Nestle, Guinness and so on to buy.
