Andy Uba's Disengagement Trauma And Tantrums —Barr. Tony Chukwuelue

Andy Uba's Disengagement Trauma And Tantrums  —Barr. Tony Chukwuelue

In the dialectics of time and history, change has remained eternally constant. It is the dynamic continuum of time and circumstances, ideas and forms, which in its process helps humanity to sieve facts from fallacies. In this natural protocol of change, purveyors of fallacies seeking to entrench the status quo are always fiercely and rebelliously combative with reason and fairplay. Foul play and abusive language rather than superior argument are their principal weapons of coercion than persuasion.
But because change is inviolate, the die hard anti-change is soon jarred from their slumber of illusion to discover that they are left behind. The courageous among them may adapt and readjust, knowing they've had their time, but the ill hearted usually regresses into melancholy, traumas and tantrums. This end stage regression may become desperate, especially where there are easy fortunes available to purchase and procure confusion. That appears to be the present predicament of Emperor 'Dr' Nnamdi Uba, self styled “Executive Governor-in-Waiting” and dream world 'permanent leader' of PDP in Anambra State. A very tragic and sad situation indeed.
Andy Uba's protracted disengagement trauma would have ordinarily attracted genuine human understanding and perhaps sympathy (undeserved anyway), if he showed contrition for the political savagery he has unleashed on Anambra people. But rather, this Imperial Majesty is too busy insulting and assaulting everyone in sight since the tragedy of his emergence. Today, if Uba is not talking about his governor-in-waiting patrimony, he is excited attacking Senator Annie Okonkwo or Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, National Chairman of P.D.P, for his unenviable task of cleaning the putrid Augean stable left behind by the likes of Andy Uba.
His manipulated and convoluted ascendancy to power in Anambra State and the comical crash that followed, was a poetic cosmic, spiritual and physical rejection of Dr. Uba by the good people of Anambra State, because every injustice inflicted on others is retribution kept handy for the oppressor.
Democracy is all about people. If your people don't want you, do you have to impose yourself on them?  Senator Annie Okonkwo will not hold brief for the National Chairman of P.D.P Prince Eze Ogbulafor who had received several knocks and unkind words from Andy Uba and his cohorts. One thing is clear though, ever since the entrance of the Ubas in Anambra politics, the state has not known peace nor unity. Andy Uba's penchant for manipulation, selective and divisive politics, against the wishes of the electorate has not allowed democracy to thrive in the state.
The alleged sin of Sen. Annie Okonkwo and the P.D.P. leadership was that they refused to allow Andy Uba's bizarre ambition to run a fiefdom and one-man show in Anambra State politics. Senator Annie Okonkwo realized that at all times, power belongs to the people and that the wishes of the majority must count. His single-minded conviction, that democracy must prevail in Anambra State, made him to sacrifice himself, time, resources, everything to fight for the restoration of democracy in Anambra State. It was this extra ordinary courage demonstrated by Senator Okonkwo that led to the rejection and dissolution of Andy Uba's unilaterally selected P.D.P. Exco at State, Local Government and Ward levels.
Today, Anambra P.D.P. faithfuls see Senator Okonkwo not only as a hero but as a champion of democracy and rule of law. That is why you have this unprecedented massive turn out and high-wired activities in the current P.D.P. congresses going on in the state. It sounds funny when Andy Uba and his co-travellers insinuate that P.D.P Chairman, Prince Ogbulafor is using Senator Annie Okonkwo to destabilize Anambra State
The truth is that Senator Annie Okonkwo has been in politics for close to two decades, long before Andy Uba overcame the amusing complex of  whether to be called Andy, Nnamdi, or Emmanuel Uba, and having resolved that personal confusion, whether he is fair to the public to appropriate by fiat the prefix 'Dr' and not Physiotherapist or just plain masseur. Anyway, this should be a treat for another day.
Senator Annie Okonkwo, founder of chains of successful businesses and entrepreneur per-excellence with courses and certificates from University of Lagos, and the world renowned Harvard Business School, is too big to be used for any untoward acts, less of all to his beloved fatherland, Anambra State. If there is any correlation between the new P.D.P and Senator Okonkwo, it is to be found in their total resolve to reject the past evil, one- man dictatorship and politics of exclusion which Andy Uba is an unrepentant sore reminder, and replace same with popular participatory democracy and respect for the rule of law.
