We Are Here To Uplift EFCC—JiboWe Are Here To Uplift EFCC—Jibo
How does it feel being a member of the EFCC board?
I didn't want it. My appointment was forced on me.
I can't say anything about myself. I leave that for others.
But generally how do you feel about it?
I think I have a commitment. Once I accept to be a member of the
commission, [ commit myself to its aspirations, and the success of the
commission is important to me.
Tell us a little about yourself?
I was born in 1932 and have 30 years experience in the civil service. I
am a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management and member of the
order the federal Republic (1979). I have 11 children, six boys and 5
girls.
What was your impression about EFCC before becoming a member of the board?
My impression was that though we hailed it at the beginning, it became
a tool, to use against opponents. But we have to refocus it.
What can you can contribute to the success of the commission?
We are here to uplift EFCC. We will step on toes to achieve that. Ours
is to have a focus and a goal. And, Isha Allah, within the term of our
appointment, we will achieve that goal.
In four years time, where would you like EFCC to be?
By the end of our tenure, FBI and CIA will be learning from EFCC.
