Loss Adjusters Tasked On Manpower Dev.Loss Adjusters Tasked On Manpower Dev.
In a similar development, a veteran insurance broker, Chief Desmond
Olaolu, has called on the Loss Adjusters and insurance brokers across
the country to develop their manpower to meet the demand of the
expansion in the underwriting business.
He stated that the need for professionalism brought about by the
consolidation of the industry lay credence to this call. He identified
professional misjudgment, corporate misjudgment or even errors of
omission and commission as some of the areas which manpower development
may help curtail.
Olaolu urged the Loss Adjusters and brokers to step up their training programme and spread.
While acknowledging the current efforts of the National Council of
Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) in this regard, he said he is a
bit uncomfortable with that of loss adjusters.
He called on the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria (ILAN) to
embark on comprehensive education and awareness campaign. This he
said, is based on the public ignorance of what loss adjusters do.
“Why everybody may know what insurance does, even though they have no
insurance policy, not many can tell who a loss adjuster is”, he said.
