By ABIODUN JIMOH
The seventh year anniversary of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ojokoro,
Ikorodu, Lagos came to a fascinating end on Sunday at the church
auditorium.
The day’s proceeding was heralded with Sunday school service where the
presiding pastor of the church Pastor Emmanuel Adebayo stressed the
need for members to always attend without which the day’s service would
be incomplete.
At the completion of Sunday school, the church choir took the center
stage with electrifying praise and worship songs that sent the whole
church into a frenzy.
The anniversary programme tagged “New Glory” was presided over by
Pastor Gabriel Obafemi, chairman, Ikorodu District Coordinating Council
(DCC), who preached from Holy Bible book of Isaiah chapter 62 verse 1-3
that says “for Zion sake will I not hold my peace and for Jerusalem
sake I will not rest…..though shall also be a crown of glory in the
hand of the Lord and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God”.in his
sermon, Pastor Obafemi urged Christians to imbibe the spirit of true
worship at all times as praising God brings down His Glory. He called
on Christians to praise God at all times as this is capable of bringing
the mighty hand of God to rescue the oppressed. He said the reason why
most Christians seem not to have answers to their prayers is because
they have neglected the art of praising God. The cleric drove home his
message with a call for Christians to live a holy life, since God only
accepts praises that come from a pure heart.
However, the presence of chairman of the occasion Mr. Joseph Odobeatu
and his female counterpart, Mrs. Adebayo former CDA chairperson of
Ojokoro community brought light to the day’s celebration.
In his vote of thanks, Pastor Adebayo gave thanks to Almighty God for
making it possible to witness another wonderful celebration expressing
the hope that members and others in attendance would soon give
testimonies on what God has done in their lives.
The event attracted worshipers from within and outside the State.
