Bala Ezekiel Shines In Norway
NIGERIA and Bryne FK striker Bala Ezekiel is determined to keep scoring after hitting four goals in four consecutive matches for his Norwegian club.
Bryne FK has struggled for form picking up just one win in two months and were flirting in the relegation zone at some point.
But the 22-year-old, who captained Nigeria at the 2007 Fifa U-20 World Cup in Canada, where he scored both goals in the win over Scotland, and his club have witnessed a brilliant month of June so far.
"It's only the start of greater things to come," said Bala Ezekiel. "I am happy I scored four goals in four games.
"But the main thing is that I play regularly, though I really hope I will score as many goals as possible to help this team."
The Nigerian's opportunities have been limited since his move to Bryne from Lyn Oslo last year due to a nagging injury.
And the newly found form of the former JC Raiders of Jos star is likely to take the club further up the table.
But he is aware of the challenges ahead yet determined to remain in the fight to help the team.
"I've played well and the team is also doing good, but we've got to keep fighting like we've been doing, but the whole team is in good mood now," he opined.
The former Nigerian youth international forward who joined Bryne in 2008 from Tippeligaen side FC Lyn Oslo in search of first team football also shrugged off pressure of being the most expensive player in the league.
"I think the pressure is off me now since I have started scoring the goals and played okay, and I hope this tide continues," the soft-spoke.
