What A Shame! Okoduwa Robbed, Stripped Naked At Gun Point

What A Shame! Okoduwa Robbed, Stripped Naked At Gun Point

What a disgrace, what a national shame! Somebody who stakes his life on the pitch for his fatherland almost killed because of material greed and animalistic instinct. A great shame, indeed.
Last week, Nigeria striker Emmanuel Okoduwa recently sealed a deal with Ukraine's Dynamo Kiev was reportedly robbed at gunpoint around Satellite Town in Lagos.
The player lost his cell phones, over $10 000 in cash, Residence Permit and his SUV, among other things.
He was scheduled to return to Ukraine and went to drop off his family at Satellite Town when he was ambushed on a bad patch of road by gunmen on a motorbike on his way back.
The robbers pulled guns on the player and his cousin, forced them to drive all the way to Mile 2, and then took everything, including the SUV.
Both men were even stripped naked, their clothes taken and left to their own devices in that deserted area as the robbers took off.
Is this the price to pay playing for your fatherland? In Europe and other parts of the world, representing your country is a great honor and as such you are regarded as a hero. Why is it different here? I think we need to ask ourselves salient questions on the way forward.
To Okoduwa and his family, I pray that he continues with his patriotic zeal because those that perpetrated that dastardly act are just one of a million. We expect to see great goals from you next season as you anchor Kiev's attack. No shaking Okoduwa, remain strong in the LORD!
