Moras Upset Over Bologna Fan GestureMoras Upset Over Bologna Fan Gesture
Bologna star Vangelis Moras was stunned when he threw his shirt into the stands and the fans threw it straight back at him...
Siena remain unbeaten at home after a 1-1 draw with Bologna in Serie A
on Sunday afternoon. Abdelkader Ghezzal headed the Bianconeri ahead
early on to take a 22nd-minute lead before Marco Di Vaio equalised with
a penalty in first-half injury time.
The game ended with that score-line, but Siena would have won it if Emanuele Calaiò hadn't missed a 76th-minute penalty.
After the game Bologna's Vangelis Moras went to celebrate the away
point against Siena by saluting the traveling supporters and throwing
his shirt into the stands for a fan to take home as a souvenir of the
encounter.
He was shocked when the shirt that he threw to the adoring crowd of
fans was promptly thrown back at him by a fan of his own team.
When questioned about the incident a visibly upset Moras said, “I am
down and disappointed. I have never seen anything like that. It's a
real pity because today's result was very important for us.”
Bologna captain Claudio Terzi also made his opinions heard concerning
the insulting fan gesture. “I don't understand how this has happened.
The fans were applauding us, so I would hope it was just one
individual's actions.”
General manager for the Rossoblu, Pier Giovanni Ricci, was angry about
the incident and scolded the fans' behaviour saying, “I was surprised,
especially as today there was no reason to see this gesture.
